05/22/19 Lake Apopka Fishing Report:
Bluegill and shellcrackers are on the bed and taking small jigs and popping bugs. Bass are
being caught flippin the grass lines and other heavy vegetation with jigs rigged with worms
and lizards.

Description of the Lake: Apopka Lake is a 19,100 acre lake that is actually apart of a chain
of lakes that cover a 60-square mile area. Much of this area is marshland. The
Withlacoochee River is the main water source for this chain of lakes. Fishing for largemouth
bass, channel catfish, white catfish, black crappie, bluegill, redbreast sunfish, redear sunfish,
spotted sunfish, white bass, striped bass, bowfin and longnose gar are the most commonly hit
species in this lake.
