Description of the Lake:
Arkabulta Lake is a 33,000-acre body of water located in the northwest
corner of Mississippi. Local anglers know this lake to be a crappie fishing paradise. There is
130 miles of shoreline for those who enjoy fishing from the bank. Pleasant Hill Public Use area
provides a boat launch ramp, parking and some acess for bank fishing. Tons of other spots
around the lake also have acess to bank fishing, and access for dropping in a kayak or canoe.
The lake holds healthy populations of bass, catfish, crappie, bream, sunfish, and white bass.
The upper, backwater sections of the lake are heavily covered with brush and fallen timber. This
provides excellent cover for bass, crappie, sunfish, and the baitfish that large fish will be eating.
When the water temperatures are at a comfortable level for the fish to live, these are great spots
to go on the search for both large and plentiful fish species. The parks and campgrounds that
scatter the lake are also great options for sucessful bank fishing, these spots are also good for
children to have acess.
