Bass are taking top water lures early mornings and near dark. Flipping Jigs with trailers under
heavy cover will also get them. Buzz baits work early and late as well. Deep diving crankbaits
work in deep water. Bluegill and sunfish are taking top water poppers early and late. Stripers
are taking large shallow running crankbaits.

Description of the Lake:  Barnett Reservoir is a 33,000-acre lake located in the central
part of Mississippi. This lake offers 105 miles of shoreline that is accesibile for bank fishing,
but the real way you to fish the shoreline for sucess is from a boat. The waters of Barnett
Reservior, aka Ross R Barnett Reservior or The Rez, are naturally very fertile, making this
body of water a natural fish hatchery. The Rez holds large populations of bass, catfish,
crappie, bream, sunfish, white bass, striped bass, and hybrid stripers. Bass are typically the
most sought after species, followed by crappie and stripers. There are several boat ramps
around the lake, making it easy to put in all kinds of water craft.  There are also many
amenities such as; restauraunts, bait shops, campgrounds, marinas and stores. There are
fishing guides local to the area that can help you catch most anything that lives in The Rez.
