08/25/19 Fishing Report for Brookville Lake: (See Fishing Report Archive at
bottom of page) Bass are taking top water lures early mornings and near dark. Jigs
with trailers around heavy cover will also get them. Buzz baits work early and late as
well. Deep diving crankbaits work in deep water. Bluegill and sunfish are taking top
water poppers early and late. Muskie are taking large shallow running crankbaits and
large spinnerbaits. Crappie is slow. Walleye slow.


Description of the Lake: Lake Brookeville is located in the southeastern part of
Indiana, just north of the town of Brookville. The 5,200-acre lake is over 17 miles in
length, providing ample water for fishing and boating. You can find a wide variety of
fish in this lake, ranging from bass, muskie, and walleye, to rainbow and brown trout.
You, of course, will also find bluegill, white and black crappie, as well as catfish in Lake
Brookeville. The fish will be hiding around covers, such as rocks, dips, ledges and
points, as well as man made covers. Search in these areas for the most luck at
catching what you came for.

Spring:
Spring is the best time for crappie, largemouth and spotted bass.

Winter months are the best times for walleye, and a good time for largemouth, and
spotted bass.

03/10/19 The most pursued species during this time of the year are bass -
largemouth and spotted bass. They can be caught during the cold winter
months. They are generally found in the deeper water of creeks channels, as
well as both submerged and above water river ledges. We recommend using
deep diving crankbaits and jigs with trailers at this time of the year. .
