Description of the Lake: Champion Creek Reservior is located in the west-central part of
Texas, about 5 miles south of Colorado City. When the reservior is at full pool, it is
1,580-acres. The lake does not have ample amenities, but is located a short drive to most
services one would need. There is a good amount of shoreline, some of which accessible for
bank fishing. There is a boat ramp making it convenient for anglers with watercraft. There is
plenty of hide outs for fish, typically in the form of points, humps, ledges, trees, and brush.
These covers also are shelter for bait fish, so that is where you will find the larger fish that
you want to catch

07/31/19 Fishing Report for Champion Creek Reservoir:
The reservoir is warm, as you would expect, with water temps at the surface in the high
eighties and low nineties. Bass are being caught along the banks very early in the morning
and near dark on topwater lures. Fish the ledges and points at 6-15 feet during the day with
plastic worms. White bass are being caught on shallow running crank baits. Bream on
popping bugs.
