Saugar and walleye are prime early spring species. Crapie and smallmouth. spotted
and largemouth bass are being caught. Fish clay and gravel points. Striped bass will
be moving up to the John Sevier Steam Plant very soon. Fish the brush piles, fish
attractors, and coves for crappie.   

Description of the Lake:
Cherokee Lake, also known as Cherokee Reservoir, has 390 miles of shoreline. There
are marinas, boat launches and boat docks on the lake. It can be fished from a kayak,
canoe, bass boat, pontoon boat or john boat. There is also some bank access to the
lake. It is a relatively deep lake with several species of fish. There are deep channels,
ledges and long points that extend out into the lake.

he fishing season is year-round.
Spring:
Late spring is a good time for bluegill and sunfish, prime time for crappie, a good time
for bass and walleye.
Summer:
This is a good time for bluegill and sunfish, as well as all bass.
Fall:
Fall it a great time for wayelle,saugar spotted, smallmouth and largemouth bass as well
as crappie. Other species can also be caught.
Winter:
Winter months are the best times for walleye, saugar, largemouth, smallmouth and
spotted bass.
