Saugar and walleye are being caught in good numbers. Smallmouth bass fishing is
good most days there is current and that the wind blows. Both Brown and Rainbow
trout are being caught on both artifical bait using conventional tackle and flies using fly
gear.  


Description of the Lake:
Chilhowee Lake is a small impoundment on the Little Tennessee River. It is located at
Chilhowee in the southeastern part of the state. It is ten miles in length with ab out 27
miles of shoreline. It is mostly a cold water lake and holds wayelle and trout as well as
other species. You have to take current into consideration most days because it is soe
short and small. The food source, consisting mostly of baitfish, moves with the current
and so do the gamefish that feed on it. There is good bank access because a road
follows along one side of the lake. There are public boat launches as well.

he fishing season is year-round.
Spring:
Late spring is a good time for bluegill and sunfish, prime time for crappie, a good time
for bass and walleye.
Summer:
This is a good time for bluegill and sunfish, as well as all bass.
Fall:
Fall it a great time for wayelle,saugar spotted, smallmouth and largemouth bass as well
as crappie. Other species can also be caught.
Winter:
Winter months are the best times for walleye, saugar, largemouth, smallmouth and
spotted bass.
