09/13/19 Fishing Report for Choke Canyon Reservior:
Bass are being caught early and late in the day on topwater lures. Shallow running
crankbaits and jerkbaits are also working early mornings around cover. Plastic worms working
during the day 8 to 15 foot deep along dropoffs and around cover,.Bream and sunfish is
good early and late in the day on popping bugs. Crappie fishing is slow. White bass are
caught when schooling on shallow running crankbaits and jerkbaits.

Description of the Lake: If you are looking to get into some big bass and catfish, Choke
Canyon Reservior should be on your list of places to fish. Choke Canyon is a 26,000-acre
lake located at Three Rivers, TX (south-central part of the state). Along with bass/catfish, this
lake also holds good populations of crappie, sunfish, gar, and white bass. Amg;ers can
persue fish from the 130 miles of shoreline, offering both deep and shallow brush and trees,
rocky points and humps, as well as tons of aquatic vegetation. Boats, of any kind, will get you
to the lesser accessible shoreline ares. Come out for a spring fishing trip and have the
chance of reeling in a lunker of more than 10lbs!! All kinds of boats are welcome on Choke
Canyon, and there are two boat ramps to help simplify launching.
