04/08/19 Fishing Report for Logan Martin Lake: (See Fishing Report Archive at bottom of
page) Most of the spotted and largmouth bass are off the beds and in the post-spawn stage.
They are hungry and feeding heavily to replenish what they lost during the spawn. Crappie
are still being caught in good numbers throughout the lake. Larger size lures like buzz baits,
spinner baits, large size top water lures and shallow running crank baits are good.

Description of the Lake:
Logan Martin Lake is located in east-central Alabama near Birmingham. There is over 275
miles of shoreline on the 15,000 acre lake. It lies below Henry-Neely dam on the Coosa River.
There is plenty bank and pier access, but is best fished from a kiayak, canoe, john or bass
boat. Logan Martin Lake is know for its largemouth and spotted bass fishing but crappie
would be a close third. There are several other popular species of fish that exist in good
population in the lake. There are many boat ramps and plenty of places you can launch a
canoe or kayak for portage.

striped bass and striped bass.
Fall:
Fall it a great time for spotted and largemouth bass and crappie.
Winter:
Winter months are good for largemouth and spotted bass.

Fishing Report Archives:
01/19/19 Bass fishing is great this time of the season. They are generally found
in the deeper water of channels and creeks as well as both submerged and
above water river ledges. Use deep diving crankbaits and jigs.
02/28/19 Spotted bass are being caught from the dam to the lake along the
banks in brush/tree tops dropping spinnerbaits. Largemouth are being caught
on the creek channel ledge on jigs with trailers and deep diving crankbaits.
04/08/19 Crappie are on the bed and being caught throught the lake. Fish
around boat houses and piers where owners have put in stucture, or along
heavy cover along the banks in 2 to 3 feet of water. Largemouth and Spotted
bass are starting to bed and being caught on jeck baits, swim baits, worms and
lizards. Fish hard bottom areas in 1 to 3 foot depths.
