Bass fishing is good during the winter months. Crappie a
re starting to bite good in the flats.
Bass are holding in c
reek channels, stump fields in about five to six feet of water. Medium  
diving crankbaits and jigs with trailers work with decent success..

Description of the Lake:
Millers Ferry Reservoir, also known as William Dannelly Reservoir, is famous for its bass and
crappie fishing. It has over 500 miles of shoreline and 35,000-acres of water providing plenty
of fishing action. Big stringers of crappie are common, and the lake also has populations of
white bass, bluegill, sunfish, striped bass, and hybrid stripers. The lake is located behind the
Millers Ferry Lock & Dam on the Alabama River in Central Alabama. There are campgrounds,
launch ramps and piers around the lake for fishing from the bank or launching kayaks,
canoes, john boats and bass boats.

Winter:
Winter months for bass. Late winter is okay for black crappie, redear sunfish, and bluegill.
