05/05/19 Fishing Report for Lake Mitchell, Alabam
Bluegill and shellcrackers are starting to spawn. They can be caught on popping bugs,
cricket and hopper imitations. Bass are holding and feeding in shallow water usually near the
banks in heavy cover and some grass beds. Crappie can still be caught in heavy cover and
under boat houses in 3 to 5 feet of water.

Description of the Lake:
Lake Mitchell is a 5,900-acre lake that is home to fantastic Alabama spotted bass fishing,
along with many other fish species to persue. Located 10 miles east of Clanton on the Coosa
river, you will find 150 miles of shoreline with tons of brush, banks, docks, and points for fish
to hide. This lake has large numbers of catfish, crappie, bluegill, smallmouth, largemouth,
hybrid stripers, and sunfish.
