05/30/19 Fishing Report for Possum Kingdom Lake:
Bass fishing is good in shallow water (1 - 3 feet deep) near grass and weed lines. Buzzbaits,
spinner baits, and top water lures are catching them early and late in the day. Bluegill and
sunfish are taking popping bugs good late and early in the day.


Description of the Lake: Possum Kingdom Lake is 17,500-acres, and is located northwest
of Fort Worth. This lake is adjacent to Possum Kingdom State Park and offers 300 miles of
shoreline. Complete with countless pockets and coves, bank fishing is very popular in ares
with acess to the shoreline. Much of the shoreline has a vast variety of aquatic vegetation.
These plants are plentiful in the warmer months and die down during cooler months. When
pursuing most fish in this lake, it is best to try to locate schools to baitfish. Most of the time
larger fish are in persuit of these smaller, bait fish. Baitfish tends to move to deeper water in
the winter and summer months, coming into more shallow water in the fall and spring.
