09/29/19 Fishing Report for Lake Travis: Lagemouth Bass and Spotted bass are taking
top water lures early mornings and near dark. Jigs with trailers around heavy cover will also
get them. Buzz baits work early and late as well. Deep diving crankbaits work in deep water.
Worms fished at 5-10 ft work. Bluegill and sunfish are taking top water poppers early and
late. Crappie fishing is slow. White bass can be caught on our inline spinners. Stripers can be
caught on large, shallow running, crankbaits when schooling.

Description of the Lake:  Lake Travis is located in the south east part of Texas, near
Lakeway. Known for the quantities of bass that anglers often catch here, this is a great body
of water for the beginner bass fisherman. Lake Travis is 18,600 acres and offers 270 miles of
shoreline with plenty of access for bank fishing. The lower portion of the lake holds great
numbers of striped bass and hybrid stripers, though they are not the dominant species. Lake
Travis also holds good populations of crappie, stocked trout, gar, smallmouths, blue gill and
other sunfish.
