Lagemouth Bass and Smallmouth bass are taking top water lures early
mornings and near dark. Jigs with trailers around heavy cover will also get them. Buzz
baits work early and late as well. Deep diving crankbaits work in deep water. Worms
fished at 5-10 ft work. Bluegill and sunfish are taking top water poppers early and late.
Walleye fishing is slow. Rock bass and Yellow perch can be caught on our inline
spinners. Muskie and Northern pike s can be caught on large, shallow running,
crankbaits near cover.

Description of the Lake: Trout Lake stands at 3,900-acres, and though it's one of
the smaller lakes in the area, it is extremely deep. This provides for execellent fishing
for many species. Located in north-central Wisconsin about 10 miles north of
Woodruff, Trout Lake offers 18 miles of shoreline. Typically the shoreline is best fished
from a boat, but many anglers have caught very worthwile fish while bank fishing. The
lake has plenty of public access for those willing to explore the bank a bit. Trout Lake
might fool you with it's name, but there is much more to catch here than just lake trout.
Species like bass, sunfish, perch, bowfin, northern pike, walleye and muskie also live
in these waters. Put in a fishing boat, canoe, kayak or use your own two legs and
enjoy fishing Trout Lake.
