Fly Fishing Report Marco Island, Everglades City, and Florida Bay

12/26/18 Fishing Report: (See Fishing Report Archive at bottom of page)
Water clarity is an issue after recent storm fronts moved through, but those fronts helped to
clear out the algae and red tide that was creating problems. Morning tides can be a little
rough so you are probably better fishing in the afternoon. Action is good at this time for
snapper, sheepshead, with schools of mackerel and bluefish along the reefs.

Description of the Inshore waters:
With shallow water bays, creeks, and flats, the waters of this area provide a wide range of
fishing possibilities. Because of the shallow waters, you can get close to the fish. Be aware of
the weather though, as storms moving through can cloud up the normally clear water.
There's also plenty of backcountry water to fish as well as creeks and rivers to get out of any
