There have been lots of bluefish and a few pompano caught along the beaches. Tarpon
fishing at the ocean inlets has been excellent. The best bite has been veru early and late in
the day. There a few Jack Crevalle, sheepshead, barracuda and ladyfish being caught.
Description of the waters:
There is clear, blue water at Pompano Beach with clean beaches that beg you to surf fish.
The intercoastal waters at Boca Raton and Pompano Beach are full of Snook, Snapper, and
Sheepshead along with many others, giving anglers all the action they want.
The fishing season is year-round.
Spring is the best time for fly fishing for Jack Crevalle, Barracuda, Bonefish, Bonito, Cobia,
Permit, Shark, and Tarpon
This is a good time for Barracuda, Bonito, Grouper, King Mackerel, Permit, Shark, Snook,
Fall it a great time for Barracuda, Bonefish, Bonito, Cobia, Permit, Shark, Snook, and Tarpon.
Is a good time for King Mackerel, Sheepshead, Snapper, Black Drum, Cobia, Grouper,
Barracuda, and Jack Crevalle.

01/16/19 Temperatures are moderate in the mid 60’s with a slight wind which is
keeping wave heights down. Surf fishing for Pompano is doing well and Bluefish
and Spanish Mackerel have been plentiful, but the clear water is making Redfish
jumpy making them harder to catch.
