Fly Fishing Gear, Tackle and Trout Flies for North Indian Creek and
South Indian Creek Tennessee
Fly Line:
You need a 4 or 5 weight fly line for your dry fly fishing on North Indian Creek or South
Indian Creek. You could get by using a 5 weight floating fly line for everything. Many anglers
that fish heavy nymphs and streamers would want a 6 weight fly line but it would not be
absolutely necessary.
Fly Rod:
I would suggest a rod for the 4, 5 and 6 weight line if you choose to use them. The four, five
and six weight rod should be nine feet in length in a medium fast to fast action.
Fly Reel:
The reel for the four, five or six weight rod should have a decent drag. They should be
smooth. A disc drag that adjust in fine increments would be best.
Leaders:
You should probably be using at least a 7 and half foot leader anywhere you fish North or
South Indian Creeks. There are situation where you would want to go up to 9 feet. I would
suggest having them in sizes ranging from 1X for streamers, up to 6X for small dry flies and
midges, in both the 7 and half and 9 foot lengths.
Tippet:
You should have extra tippet in sizes ranging from 1X to 6X.
Waders:
Waders are desirable for North or South Indian Creeks unless the water is warm enough for
you to wet wade.
Wading Boots:
Rubber soles are required by the park.
Trout Flies:

we certainly hope you will. You want be disappointed. The wild and holdover trout in North
and South Indian Creeks can be selective because they have a lot of food to choose from.

South Indian Creek Tennessee
