The Wenatchee River originates from Lake Wenatchee
and flows for about 55 miles into the Columbia River at
the town of Wenatchee. Although it was regarded as
one of the best fly fishing steelhead streams in the state
for years, it was closed for more than a decade. It
reopened in 2007 as an Endangered Species Act

little different from most streams.All wild fish are to be
released alive and all hatchery steelhead must be

The first run of steelhead arrive around the first of
August but better fishing usually begins about a month

continue off and on until March.
You must have a current Washington fishing license in
addition to a Columbia River Salmon and Steelhead
Endorsement Stamp. Steelhead season is from about
August through March.
