Pike / Muskie

These flies must be able to handle the sharp teeth of northern pike and muskie and resemble the food that they eat in at least a simi-realistic manner. The pike is one of the easiest to catch fish there is. It is a voracious predator. You don’t have to be as picky in selecting a fly to match a natural bait as with many other species but you do have to select a fly that will withstand the harsh treatment of its teeth. The Muskellunge is one of the largest and most elusive fish that swims in freshwater. You not only need a fly that withstands the bites without tearing up, you also need one that imitates a real, live bait fairly accurately.
