These flies are used for saltwater species that inhibit the flats such as bonefish, snook, sea trout, tarpon and permit that feed in the shallow flats and saltwater backcountry. They imitate food that is commonly found on the flats such as shrimp, mullet, minnows and crabs. Some of the tarpon, permit and bonefish flies are flies that are similar to flies that have been around a long time and have proven over and over to be highly effective. Modifications in design and changes have been made in materials to highlight certain movements or action of the fly; or for the purpose of attracting more fish. Some flies are completely new but tested by our field staff.
