This caddisfly is also called the “Giant Orange Sedge” by many. It is found in the Pacific Coastal area to the Rocky Mountains. It prefers moderate to fast moving water and freestone streams It emerges in the evenings and the egg laying takes place late in the afternoon to evenings. It is a member of the Limnephilldae family of caddisflies. This fly hatches in September and October. It is a very large fly that provides a good meal for the trout. It live in fast to moderate water.
