Blue Quill
These mayflies called Blue Quills, begin to hatch when the water is still less than fifty degree F. in most streams. That may be as early as February in the South-east and April in the North. The papaleptophlebia genus includes the adoptiva species that is one of the first hatches to occur in the East and Mid-west.
