Perfect Fly Brown Crayfish streamer fly for bass and big trout. It is unweighted and can be fish shallow, or weight added above it on the tippet and fished deep. The Brown Crayfish fly is designed to be fished in shallow water that is less than 3 feet deep. It can be weighted down and fished in deeper water. It is best fished using short, two to three inch long strips. It swims backwards like real crayfish or crayfish. It is best used in clear water. Our Brown and White Crayfish fly is best used in stained or off- colored water. Cast the fly out and mend the line to help get the fly down to the depth you want to fish it before you begin to strip it back in. Do not rush the retrieve. That is about the only mistake you can make fishing the fly. This fly is also great for large brown trout. It can be fished down and across in streams with good results. We recommend fishing it is low light situations for trout. Large brown trout feed during the early mornings and late afternoon and evenings. It is also effective during overcast or cloudy days.  It cast and works best when you are using at least a 6 weight outfit that has a medium to fast action. Seven weight fly rods will do a better job and is what we recommend for both smallmouth bass fishing and for large brown trout. This fly has been proven effective in several lakes and rivers for bass, smallmouth and largemouth and large brown trout. It should be fished on a 6 or 7 weight fly line. It has taken some large smallmouth bass in the Tennessee River System, the Midwest and some of the smallmouth lakes in Oregon. We think you will find it very effective anywhere there are crayfish.
