It provides very good line speed and is a light weight, high strength, five (5) six (6), seven (7) or eight (8) weight, fast action fly rod. It will cast popping bugs into a breeze, yet it is sensitive and light enough to cast size 20 Trico duns with accuracy. Although it will cast nymphs, weighted with split shot and fished under a strike indicator, with ease, it is a great dry-fly rod. You can fish close in without the “stiff” feeling many fast action fly rods have.
