Fly Fishing Laurel Fork Creek Tennessee
This is a wonderful little trout stream with plenty of wild brown and rainbow trout. Native brook trout are found in its headwaters. It’s lower section is stocked with rainbows. Laurel Fork Creek is located in the extreme Northeastern section of Tennessee. It is highly possible to catch a grand slam of wild trout from its waters.

This stream is often confused with Laurel Creek, another northeastern Tennessee trout stream located not far from there. Laurel Fork Creek is located off US highway 321 at Hampton, not far from Elizabethton, Tennessee. Dennis Cove Road will take you there.

This is a small, fast, pocket water stream with a good population of aquatic insects. Stoneflies are plentiful and there’s also some mayflies and caddisflies. Its brown
trout are especially beautiful and plentiful.

The road doesn’t follow the wild trout part of the stream so this isn’t a stop the car and cast stream. That is probably why we have never seen anyone else there. We have always been there on a weekday and that may make a big difference. There is plenty of water to go around even if there are a few anglers there but you will still need to do a little hiking.

This is a fine, beautiful little trout stream in the wild trout designated area, worthy of any anglers time. Fly fishing Laurel Fork Creek is a true pleasure.
